페어필드 타운십(Fairfield Township)의 시민 생활에 새로운 장이 열리고 있습니다. 레인 도서관의 최신 지점이 건설되고 있기 때문입니다. 완만한 경사의 7에이커 부지에 자리한 이 단층 건물은 연면적 22,000제곱피트 규모로, 집성목(木) 구조, 지역 중심의 프로그램, 그리고 부지 환경에 반응하는 설계를 조화롭게 결합하고 있습니다.

MMT는 남부 옐로우파인(Southern Yellow Pine) 으로 제작된 CLT(교차 적층 목재) 378㎥와 글루램(집성재) 48㎥를 공급합니다. 자재 공급뿐 아니라 설치 서비스까지 담당하여 제작부터 최종 설치까지 완벽한 실행을 보장합니다. 따뜻한 목재 질감의 구조는 도서관이 지역 사회의 공공 목적지로서 가지는 역할을 뒷받침하며, 친근하고 내구성이 뛰어나며, 타운십의 성장과 함께 발전하도록 설계되었습니다.

건물은 두 개의 날개형 동선으로 구성되어 있으며, 중앙에는 야외 커뮤니티 공간이 있습니다. 실내에는 부지의 경사에 따라 층단식으로 이어지는 읽기 공간이 마련되어 있으며, 어린이, 청소년, 성인 구역을 자연스럽게 연결합니다. 주요 프로그램에는 50석 규모의 회의실, 비공식 공연이나 단체 낭독을 위한 ‘이야기 계단(Story Stairs)’, 그리고 높이진 코너에 마련된 개별 학습 공간 등이 포함되어 있습니다.

A new chapter in civic life is unfolding in Fairfield Township with the construction of Lane Library’s newest branch. Set into a gently sloping 7-acre site, the 22,000-square-foot, single-story building brings together mass timber structure, community-centered programming, and site-responsive design.

MMT is supplying 378 m³ of CLT and 48 m³ of glulam, all manufactured from Southern Yellow Pine. In addition to material supply, MMT is also providing installation services, ensuring seamless execution from fabrication through final placement. The structure’s warm material palette anchors its role as a public destination – inviting, durable, and designed to evolve with the township’s growing needs.

Organized in a two-wing layout, the building wraps around a central outdoor gathering space. Inside, a series of tiered reading zones follow the site’s topography, guiding visitors through children’s, teen, and adult areas. Program highlights include a 50-seat meeting room, “story stairs” for informal performance or group reading, and individual study nooks tucked into elevated corners.
